5 million visitors browse UAE Interact website in 6 months

The UAE Interact, the official website of the UAE Ministry of Information and Culture, recorded a huge increase in the number of visits, hits and page visits in the past six months. According to computer statistics, the website received a total of five million visitors during the period from September 2004 to March 2005 compared to 2.6 million as at the end of August 2004.
A total of 203,000 visitors were recorded in March 2005 versus 105,000 in August 2004. As many as 720,000 pages were viewed during the month of March 2005 as against 360,000 in August 2004.
Visitors from North America took the lion's share of visits to the site with 43.5 per cent followed by Europe with 27.7 per cent. Asia came third with 22.6 per cent of the total visits, while Oceania registered 3.5 per cent, Africa 2.2 per cent and South America 0.6 per cent.
The UAE Interact is the favourite website for visitors from around the world, thanks to the continued updating of information and basic data, whether economic, commercial, tourist, scientific or cultural in various major languages. (The Emirates News Agency, WAM)
